India ranks 74 globally with 16.26 Mbps average download speed on broadband networks in the country. But with this fast-paced advancement in technology and an increasingly inter-connected system that is facilitated by the internet — carrying everything from our personal to financial data — cyber security has become a thing of prime importance. A recent UN telecommunication agency report pointed out that currently, 38 percent of the countries have a cyber security strategy in place, while 12 percent of the governments are still developing one. Among the 193 member countries listed in the Global Cybersecurity Index, India is ranked at the 23rd spot with a score of 0.683 while Singapore tops the list with a score of 0.925.
