1. System Requirements
Though every game is uniquely developed, most of them demand a minimum system requirements for hardware and software. Check your computer’s configuration to make sure they meet The Division 2’s minimum requirement. Higher is better.

2. Update Windows
The loyal readers of GT know that this is the first and the most primary step to fix most of the bugs or crashes. Press Windows key+I to open Settings and click on Update & Security. Check for updates and if any, download and install them immediately. Reboot your PC after installing the updates.
3. Update Game
It is also possible that a new update/patch version of the game is available. Usually, these updates also carry several bugs fixes and patches with them. Check if the game has any pending updates.
4. Update Graphics
Every graphics card requires drivers to make sure that your OS can use the graphics hardware. Maybe there is an update that will fix The Division 2 crashing on the desktop. Open Device Manager and search for your graphics card name or provider. Double-click on Display adaptors to open it and find your graphics card drivers. Right-click on it to select Update driver. If necessary, reboot the PC.
5. Change Resolution
Several users have found that running the game in a lower resolution did the trick. Right-click anywhere on your desktop to select Display settings. Scroll a little to find the Display resolution. There are two settings here that are known to cause The Division 2 to crash on the desktop. Under the General tab, you will disable in-game overlay for supported games and enable Minimize Uplay to system tray when the application window is closed. Disable any other overlay like Discord app that you might be using at the moment to see if that makes a difference. On the other hand, if your game is frequently minimizing instead of crashing, you may disable the Minimize to tray option.
8. Get DirectX 11 or 12
Are you using DirectX 12 and Nvidia graphics cards? That is a known issue where the two of them don’t play nice with each other. One of the most common anti-cheat software in the world comes preinstalled with Division 2. However, there is a problem. Some users discovered The Affinity is set incorrectly. Open Task Manager by right-clicking on the Taskbar and under the Details tab, find Easy Anti Cheat. Right-click on it to select Set affinity and pick CPU 1 from the list. 10. Delete the DLL File

11. Page File
You can also try changing the Page File settings on your Windows 10 PC. A page file is a virtual memory acting as the extension of physical RAM. It swings into action when the RAM is overloaded, which leads to crashing to desktop errors since no page space available. Here’s how you can change the Page File settings on your computer: Step 1: Open Control Panel and click on System under System and Maintenance. Step 2: Click on Advanced system settings which will open a new pop-up called System Properties. Step 3: Click on Settings under the Advanced tab now. This will open Performance Options. Step 4: Under the Advanced tab, click on change. This is where you can set virtual memory. Ideally, it should be set to System managed size. After that, restart the computer and try launching The Division 2 game again.
